Creatures have emerged from underground seemingly without any facial features other than eyes.

Medical scans suggest the creatures feed by absorbing energy directly from a living victim via an unknown organ in their fingertips. They bear traces of the mutagen found in plants in the Murder Hornet anomaly, and the first Lamb Zombies found came from what were believed to be the corpses of people who had purchased and eaten lamb kebabs from the High Rollers, which turned out to be made from sheep that had eaten grass from within an anomaly. The mutagen passed from grass to sheep to human, and rather than die the humans went into a dormant state. They emerged from their graves as mindless predators.

Dr. Evie has done an analysis of some red pills that were found and determined that they are a more direct version of the mutation and contain the mutagen in a refined form. A human that takes a dose of these pills will fall into the dormant state and mutate into the so-called lamb zombies.

A full autopsy and toxicology report has been carried out on a lamb zombie corpse. The most recent wave of corpses were created by people ingesting the red pills and not by consuming infected lamb. The autopsy report has also yielded the reasons behind the near-invulnerability to gunfire. The vast majority of the creatures organs have atrophied and ceased to function, with only the skeletal and musculature systems still operating to their fullest. When punctured by bullets the muscles can knit back together quite rapidly, and can continue to function well if almost 65% destroyed. The skeletal system does not repair as well, so this is a suggested target. Nutrition is absorbed via the hands from other living material and when buried in stasis the zombies sustain themselves with insect and microbial life in the soil.

The most recent encounter showed the creatures have developed claws and fur on their hands, and could turn invisible if they remained still. This needs to be investigated.
